Title: KingCo BT Buck (Home Brew)
Post by: @RCHER on February 19, 2009, 12:43:48 AM
Here's a couple crappy pics of my largest BT to date. It's an old 35mm (Olympus SureShot Owl) home brew I made years ago. It's worked great, but the weather was real bad and he's quite a ways out.

What a stud buck though, huh?

Wow, are you sure that is a blacktail.     You may have to give me the gps coordinates so that I can verify that it is not a muledeer.   :hello:  Specifically for scientific reasons of coarse.   :chuckle:

Thanks fellas. So, in that one set I got pics of 4 different bucks hitting that Moccasin Joes BT scented tampon. This was the biggest player and only two different picks of him.

It's close to my place here in Bellevue, and I see at least one buck nearly as big almost every November. They get good food, protection and age being close to hoomans. Although it's hard to beat this guy's genetics. Very symetrical and good forks. I wish I could see how wide he was.

I spend a lot of time (most week days) in the trees and almost never see these guys till the rut.

Here's a wide 3pt frame buck I shot video of about a mile from the 4x...

oh yeah if you want to get big big blacktails you gotta hunt close to humans. they feel safe. and usually there isnt much in the way of cats and bears for them to worrie about either.

That 4X is an absolute TOAD

Those bucks grow nice in the Burbs, kind of why I got myself into archery, where i hunt in KC it's getting crowded and You have to quit hunting with rifle just for safety reasons, and we've had a few like that one in this hole

I've seen your YouTube video before while searching for blacktail videos.  Great you're on this site!  Keep at it - love BIG blacktails!!

Thanks, Bow. Good to be here. This site has grown. I hope to meet folks like yourself.

"love BIG blacktails" - Being a Montana boy, I never thought I'd dig these shallow forked, jungle dwellers as much as those high desert muleys and whitetails. But, as ghost-like and handsome as these blacktails and Roosevelts are, how can you not be a fan? Right?

Great pics, have an idea where this is. Had the privelege about 15 years ago to work on a site bordering an area outside Bellevue during the rut. In one field I saw two 5x5's, a 4x4 and several 3x's. Too bad there's no hunting in that area, but it's cool to see them and know they contribute to the population.

While I was attending BCC I routinely saw prints in the dirt around the new construction area but never actually saw any deer. It's amazing where blacktails can live and still remain out of sight for the most part
