Hi everyone,
I am new to Washington from Texas. I am having some trouble figuring out where exactly I can hunt. Currently I live in Ellensburg and would like to hunt the Colockum Wildlife Area. When I am looking at the maps which I have put the links to down below I don't understand where I can actually hunt... I'm sure this is very remedial for y'all but coming from Texas, where public land hunting isn't really a thing I don't get what I am looking at. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also, if anyone in the area is looking for a hunting partner I am doing archery this year!

Yes, you can hunt there. The wildlife areas should say on their main page. Join the Facebook page.

Is there any back country hunting there or do the roads make that hard?

Its huge, best thing to do is soon as the snows gone get a DNR map and go look at it

What do you plan on hunting up there? What kind of vehicle do you have?

Also be careful there is some intersecting gmu up in there where you can hunt one side of the road but it's a draw permit the other side of the road.
And as everyone mentioned the roads around Ellensburg are rough, tire eating rough. And when there is snow getting around in 2 wheel drive can be dicey.
