Title: Tell me what this is
Post by: duckfvr on February 19, 2009, 10:35:06 AM: Saw this today in a deer bed, i figured it was a domestic dog but it was a little over 4 inches accross, i know there is some cats around but i am not very good at tracks

Post by: Michelle_Nelson on February 19, 2009, 12:05:47 PM: Pretty sure that is a Cougar track. Could have slid a little in the mud. When I first looked at it and saw the slide I thought rear foot of a small Bear. I stared at it for a while and I can see where the pad outline is now.

If it was a domestic dog you would very easily be able to see a claw mark in front of each toe. I can't see that but I think the picture is to angled for me to see those any way.
