So, I'm surfing the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks page, trying to print some Block Mgmt maps.
I haven't done it for a few years.
If I read the site correctly, I can't get the maps until August.
Is that right?
Thanks,
Dan

Awesome bucks! Yes, the block management maps are usually released in mid-August.
-
Thanks.
I called the regional office, but they don't have any 2016s.
I'm on the hunt!
-
Good luck, Dan-o! Do you have any specific region in mind?
-
I've hunted regions 6 and 7 quite a bit. Region 3 some.
I have some wanderlust, so i thought I'd try region 4.
Got any region 4 Block mgmt maps you could lend me? :-)

I wish I had the maps as well....I'd definitely send them your way. I'm thinking about trying Region 6 this fall, the area east of Havre along the Milk River. I talked with a biologist from that region last week and he thought the whitetail numbers should be good this year. I also read a summary of a study conducted last summer that indicated the numbers were down substantially so I'm not sure which is correct. I'll keep trying to get more accurate information. Have you had good experiences in Region 6?
-
I have maps from every region showing ever piece of block management in the entire state from last year. I spent 100+hrs scouring those. Along with lists of names and acreage for each one. Absolutely envaluable to me. Where you located Dan?

You can use the "Cadestral" (might be spelling it wrong) to do most of that. Just remember to make sure the road to the public land is not private- its shocking how much public land is land locked.
White tail numbers are good not great. Mule deer numbers are way down.
Good luck
