I drew Kelly Hill spring bear and was wondering if any previous tag holders would be willing to share info. Also, Is IEP permit worth the $$?
-
not really, there's a ton of ground you don't need a permit for although there are a good amount of bear on IEP lands peeling trees. I just think IEP ought to invite spring bear hunters and cook them hotdogs at the IEP gates to welcome them. :twocents:

I happen to think the permit is a great deal. :twocents:

The permit is $10 a day or something like $60 for the year. Cheap insurance.

Where is IP land in the Kelly Hill Unit? :dunno: I have spent a lot of time up there. I know there is a fair about of Private around the roads, and good chunks of DNR and FS. Where the heck is the IP land?

Not knocking IEP permit, just saying there's a lot of ground on Kelly Hill that's not IEP land.

Duh...crap I am getting old. Thank KF. I'm normally on the Barstow side but wow that was a brain fart
-
Thank for the advice. I'll post a report after the season.

Yes get the IEP permit for sure or I can almost guarantee you that Hunter will issue you a fine. He works with IEP and is a local up that way. I see him every year I am up their in the fall season. I recommend staying on stand and be very patient. Patience and a good pair of binoculars will kill you bear in 105. I see at least 2 bear up their every fall. Best of luck!
