Title: Savage model 42 .22/.410 compact
Post by: Bill W on March 27, 2017, 11:12:44 AM: I was checking out one of the new model 42 over/under grouse guns yesterday. It sure was a nice looking break-down compact gun. It was kinda asking to go home with me. Anyone else look at these sucessors to the model 24's?

Post by: Fl0und3rz on March 27, 2017, 11:15:17 AM: I am bummed they did not stick with the original wood stocks, although I might be convinced to look a little harder at a stainless, synthetic model, if the plastic did not appear so much like an early kel-tec.

I wouldn't mind having a .22/20 gauge combo. I do have a .222/20 gauge in a model 24.

On the model 42 vs the Chiappa, I feel the 42 is a better gun. But to each their own as it's just my opinion.
