We're technically only in the second week of spring, but it sure has been wet so far. Any guesses about how bad this will hurt grouse for the year? Too early to tell? I'm hoping that if the current pattern changes soon it won't be to bad on the birds.

Doesn't matter until the hatch, that couple weeks right after they hatch makes or breaks their success.

Been hearing lots of drumming lately

Early rain is good. Early green up and lots of bugs

I like this line of thinking.

I ran into a bunch up in the nile unit 2 weeks ago. Seems like they are doing fine in there.

Herd a few and saw a nice big blue yesterday up Watt canyon. Lots of drumming! Can't imagine bad weather would affect them now, until the chicks hatch.
