Title: Mule Deer Tips
Post by: Brydawg512 on April 14, 2017, 07:29:00 PM
Hello everyone!

New to the forum here, so I am really looking forward to picking up as much knowledge as possible. I have done some reading, but had a few questions to ask. I have primarily hunted blacktail, and was curious the best way to go about hunting mule deer? Is glassing large areas the best, or sitting and waiting for one to come in?

I hunt GMU 346 for elk, but have seen no legal bucks in my 5+ years of hunting here. I've heard Okanogan is good for muleys, but there are a lot of other hunters in the area. I am young, so am more than willing to put in time scouting and preparing for the season. I am not asking for honey holes, but I am curious where a good place to start is.

Thank you in advance!

I will keep that in mind. Thank you!

I know sort of unrelated here, but how do I view "my posts"? Sorry, trying to learn to navigate this site.

Another tip I found for hunting muleys is to find a good ridgeline and be there before first light. Then at first light you catch them heading back up off the river looking for a good place to perch during the daylight.

Ok awesome. So get off the road and watch ridgelines

What kind of hunting are you doing? Rifle, archery, muzzel loader? Different seasons have different tactics.
