Nice! Can I ask what time he flew down from his roost? I've been watching an eastern and it's been like an hour after daylight. Is that normal?I have seen em stay in the trees for hours. It depends on the a lot of factors. Rain, predators, how hard of a day he had the day before. I have seen em stay on a limb and fan out trying to attract the hen that is only branches away...

I heard the tom and let you go after him. It sure looks like you or your look alike and the clearcut looks like the one I was going to. If not than you must have been near by,, looks like the same bird... :)

I have been trying to get the eastern for going on 5 years and still haven't seen one. If I heard one I am pretty sure I could not let another guy go after it.
