Title: Info on Colville and Turkeys
Post by: kreed93 on April 25, 2017, 11:34:39 AM
Spend the opening weekend in Coleville, but had a hard time getting back into the woods because of snow and bad roads. Saw plenty of turkeys...on private. Plan on heading back this weekend and was wondering if anyone had info on the roads and if the turkeys are more active than then. We are heading all the way from Port Orchard so any info is a big help. Thank you all and good luck.

Most of the snow has melted out but the roads are pretty greasy and lots of washouts from snowmelt and runoff.  The birds in my area last weekend were still henned up all day.  The hens arent going to nest yet.  Maybe things will change by this weekend.

I just got back. The Toms all have hens. Calling them away is hard.
You would be better advised to go first weekend in May. Hens will be bred and you have a better chance at finding a lonely Tom.  :twocents:

But than I have never killed a Turkey only called them in. :dunno:
