I just bought a Alpine Frontier Compund bow and after a few weeks of shooting it the plastic piecies that slides on the cable guard is making a God awful noise making my bow no longer silent. Anyone ever expirence this problem and how do I fix it? Can provide a pic if needed. Thanks

are you talking about the cable slide? If so, you can either swap it out with a new teflon slide or just put some lube on it.

I allways replace factory cable slides with teflon right from the start.

About how much do the Teflon slides cost and what lube would be recommended? I assume the cable slide is the plastic piece attached to the strings that moves on along the cable guard. I'm pretty new to it so I don't know.

?? probably 10 bucks ... don't know exactly it's been awhile sine I needed one but I'd replace it before using lube but that's just my personal preference.

alright but what about the cable gaurd (the bar itself) itself being all scuffed up will that mess up a new one?
-
no it wont be a prob when you get a new teflon cable slide it will speed up your bow a foot or two per second

Nice! Thanks all

Check and see if the guide rod has loosened up and rotated some. rotation or looseness could make the guide slide at an angle and make noise... just a thought.
