Hey Guys and Gals!
What is your all time favorite gun, caliber, and loading for black bear?

338 or 338 ultra mag, 250 grain bullet. Puts them down!

My Browning A-Bolt in 270 Winchester loaded with 140 grain Barnes TSX bullets seems to do just fine. It's relatively lightweight and very accurate. Bears aren't that difficult to put down. Anything that works for deer will work just fine on black bears.

Nice range of guns and calibers. I'm partial to the slightly odd-ball calibers: 444 marlin and the .358 winchester. I like the leveractions because I want to have quick follow up shots. The .358 seems to be a good medium heavy/medium velocity cartridge.
