So what do you guys like for 357 target shooting. I'll be loading up some plinking bullets for the handguns here shortly. What grain bullets bullets (fmj, hollow-point, wad-cutter) & what powder & weight of powder.
-
:) 148 grain dbl. ended wadcutters and semi wadcutter 158 grain. "few" grains of Titegroup or Clays. run around 750-850 fps.
Cheap and fun/accurate.

I'm not sure about target loads. This is what I shoot with my GP100. Hornady 125 xtp blue dot 14.0 and mag cci primers. Have used 14.5 just a little much for paper :twocents:

Drop down to 38 special?
-
I have a bunch of 357 revolvers that I will be plinking with, just looking for a cheap, low recoil load to plink with.
I did buy a Ruger 77/357 rifle and a 357 Ruger Redhawk revolver for deer hunting back East.
For punching hole in paper what ever is the cheapest way to go that is some what accurate is what I'm looking for.

If you are just plinking, drop down to 38 special. You can shoot 38 special in 357. You can't shoot 357 in 38 special.

I prefer light 357 loads when you shoot lots of 38 special it builds dirt up in the cylinder 1/10th :chuckle: short of a 357 case. I have seen guys have trouble getting 357 cases all the way in a gun that shoots lots of 38s. The dirt cleans right out if you do use them, you just gotta clean it out once in a while.
I am assuming reloads

I picked up some Berry 148 grain double ended wad cutters I'll load up, i have Clay's and Tite Group.
I did buy some loaded wad cutters at the Monroe Gun Show and they cycled OK in the Ruger 77/357

:yeah: :yeah:
I think you'll be happy.

I have been picking up some 357 brass to reload for the 357 guns i have just to avoid the residue build up in the cylinder. i'm still looking for just a little more 357 brass if any one has any. I'm suppose to have a lock on 1'000 pieces here shortly.
On my Ruger 77/357 I'll make up loads with the XTP bullets that it shoots the best either 158 grain or the 180 grain.
Any Pet Loads for these two bullets?
-
I like 2400 and 4227 for hotter loads. I do not load many of those.

I have some 4227, Which 2400 do you use?
