14 yr old will have an infinite edge soon.
Walk me through what to add or change to improve it. Release, stabilizer, silencer etc. We arent archers, its the only season he can hunt this yr so here we go.

The brushes on the rest will wear out. They can be replaced tho, use as is or upgrade to a better rest... The 3 pin sight may be fine for awhile.

The sight should be first thing to go, it is garbage! , my boy has one and the sight and rest was replaced within a week. They are good little bows but the accessories they put on are definitely on the cheap side.

Rest would be the first thing I'd upgrade. Wish I could order them with out the accessories, the sight is ok and should do the job for now. They work out of the box but there is lots of room to improve the sight and rest for sure.

That all depends on budget, there are good accessories out there that won't break the bank just find ones that have micro adjustments that will be easy to adjust. After you put your hands on a few you should be able to pick out the ones that are garbage

Trophy takers has some decent rest on the cheaper side. I'm moving toward vapor trail limb drives as they have been bullet proof. QAD, ripcord etc all have decent rest. A good pro shop can steer you in the right direction price and how the rest works. The simple rest like the whisker work but will ware down. Drop away limn driver rest seem to be a little more my speed but to each their own.

I bought an Infinite Edge last year and heard the same things.
The bow has been great and the accessories have held up fine.
No way I'd put a drop away rest on a bow for a 14 year old newbie. Containment rest like the one that comes on it or a WB shoot fine and don't have cables/complexity.
I agree the sight is bare minimum but it works. I put a Truglo 5 pin with microadjust on my bow for $59 from Camofire and will likely do the same on the kid's Infinite Edge.
It's a great little bow and my 13 year old is pulling 44lbs at 25" and it's plenty zippy, smooth and quiet.

I would start upgrading with better accessories now. If you upgrade bows later those accessories can move to the new bow.
I would put a whisker biscuit on now. drop away later. I would stay away from trophy ridge sights. I don't think they are as bright as some quality American made sights out there. :twocents:

I can't remember the name of the rest, but it holds the arrow on the top and bottom kind of pinching it is the best I can describe. It was only like $30 I bought for my wife since she didn't want a drop away and I hate whisker biscuits because the arrow will make noise especially when it's cold drawing. But it rotates completely out of the way on release so the fletch does not contact anything much like a drop away. I'm assuming your from Colville, go to Whitetail plus in Deer Park, Greg the owner is an awesome guy. He is the only one I buy things from any more and super knowledgeable. We will get you lined out with good quality equipment in your budget. And he most likely will give your son great shooting tips while your there. I bow hunted for 5 years before going there for my first time and actually left a better shooter from multiple small critiques he showed me.

A great rest for is the Trophy Ridge Revolution, and it is under $50, I have one of these and it performs very well for an inexpensive rest. For the sight I would go with the highest that your budget allows. But I would recommend something like a Spot Hogg Bulletproof sight, it's about $90-100 and is wrapped with 8" of fiber optic. A great release that has worked well for my kids is the Scott Hero.
