Just made my first pot call that I'm pretty happy with. This is turned from cocobolo and is anodized aluminum over slate. Hoping to get out this Saturday to put it to the real test. But might be kind of late in the season so we'll see!

Awesome looking call. What kind of striker are you using? Any way you can let us hear what it sounds like ?

I've been using a maple striker with a red mallee burl handle from a call i bought. I'm hoping to make a couple different strikers this weekend. I'll see if I can't post a video once I do.

Up and coming game calls there.

I like the looks of that pot a lot. The sound is great as well it's a little high pitched but that's the aluminum for ya. I have used an aluminum call for close to 15 years and finally found a bird 2 years that liked it. Aluminum is great in the rain and when it's dry.

Couldn't be more right. I personally like the sound of slate calls the best but every call has its own purpose and place in our arsenal!

Sounds great! I could see playing with different strikers for sound variation. Again, gorgeous call.

Oh yeah for sure, strikers can make a big difference in sound. I'm liking the one piece strikers the best but they take so much longer to make! Haha.

Thank you! I'm going to be working on a redwood burl one this weekend for a old coworker that I think is going to look cool.

Here is the latest. Honduran rosewood burl. I think it's a keeper. I like the raspy tone it gives.

Here is a glass over slate and copper over cherry wood.

These calls are beautiful ! You really need to put me on your PRO STAFF for field trials :chuckle: Really nice work. I like the sound bite.

Done deal Gaddy. PM me your address and I'll send you one here in the next week or two. Only stipulation is that you have to give me honest feedback.

I had to reach out to 100 road and see if I could get him to make me a call. I have a bit of a turkey call problem. I like to accumulate them. This call looks great, feels good in the hand and with my large assortment of strikers can get a lot of different sounds from it varying from loud to really soft. Can't wait for spring now. The pictures do not do it justice. Beautiful work!

Thank you @JKEEN33 make sure to prep that copper surface and post some success pictures come April. Any feedback is much appreciated.
Here is another pic.
