Title: Turkey pot call
Post by: The100Road on May 15, 2017, 11:56:40 AM: Just made my first pot call that I'm pretty happy with. This is turned from cocobolo and is anodized aluminum over slate. Hoping to get out this Saturday to put it to the real test. But might be kind of late in the season so we'll see!

I've been using a maple striker with a red mallee burl handle from a call i bought. I'm hoping to make a couple different strikers this weekend. I'll see if I can't post a video once I do.

I have used an aluminum call for close to 15 years and finally found a bird 2 years that liked it. Aluminum is great in the rain and when it's dry.

Couldn't be more right. I personally like the sound of slate calls the best but every call has its own purpose and place in our arsenal!

Thank you! I'm going to be working on a redwood burl one this weekend for a old coworker that I think is going to look cool.

Post by: JKEEN33 on August 22, 2017, 08:06:43 PM: I had to reach out to 100 road and see if I could get him to make me a call. I have a bit of a turkey call problem. I like to accumulate them. This call looks great, feels good in the hand and with my large assortment of strikers can get a lot of different sounds from it varying from loud to really soft. Can't wait for spring now. The pictures do not do it justice. Beautiful work!
