Hows the action out there fellas? I got my bird on opening day and havent really been paying much attention to the birds when I have been east. I plan on taking a buddy over to my spot to call him in a bird this weekend.
What are you all seeing out there? Birds still active? Hens should be on nests now right? Toms still looking for love?
Just curious to hear some reports!
good luck to all those still searching for that limbhanger!

We killed a nice tom last weekend in the klickitat. Wouldn't say they were super vocal but find the right fired up bird and it can happen. I'm probably going out Saturday to try to fill me 2nd tag.

I've been super busy this year and just made it out for the first time today. Had 3-4 toms gobbling in the area. Two were shock gobbling at everything. One was talking with me but wouldn't come in. After about an hour and a half I had 5 jakes come in and once they got to about 20 yards I couldn't resist. On my way in I saw a field with about 10 hens, 2 strutting toms and one big tom on a dead run in their direction. I didn't hear any hens and went pretty easy on the calling.

Any jake foolish enough to walk in wont make it home for dinner, I know that much!

I've been out every saturday since opener and I can tell you that it has been really quiet in my area. Had some gobbling on roost and barely any in the morning. Been tough but it only takes 1 to get fired up. A lot less pressure right now so you never know unless you get out there right?

Toms are still gobbling from the roost. Still breeding hens, but the boys are by themselves around 11am.

Just talked with my son who is over at the ranch. Took a friend over yesterday to go turkey hunting for a couple days. Birds were gobbling early before light and just after before going quiet. Went to the ground blind around 8:30 a.m. My son called in two birds.. His friend shot one of them......his first gobbler just after 10 a.m.

We got four toms last weekend and a HUGE CHOCOLATE BOAR late this afternoon. Pics after I get some sleep. Could have worked a couple toms when we were after bear.
