Title: Bald mountain muzzie tags
Post by: adamR on June 17, 2017, 06:12:19 AM
So as usual I didn't draw anything but my wife got lucky and drew a bald mountain muzzie quality tag and my father-in-law drew the other tag there as well.  Kind of crazy odds since they put in as individuals.
I'm super excited she's killed elk and does but has yet to take a buck.  I love the area but wouldn't waste my 15 points on it!

Helped my dad on that hunt few years back. His was during the rut. Lots of deer and lots of bucks. He Passed on a lot of 4x4s looking for a bigger one but ended up shooting a little 4x4  on last day. Awesome hunt you'll wonder where all the bucks come from. We would see 4-5 4x4s a day. Only depressing part is lots of natives road hunting!! (10-15 truck a day pass camp with rifles hanging out the windows) Asked one what they where hunting for and his response was ( Anything that moves)
good luck

This is what he got. Little compared to what he passed earlier in the season.

Did he get drawn in 2013?  That was the year my motherin law drew the tag.  She shot a 150" buck opening day and after he tumbled he got back up and we never found him.  Looked hard the next week or so and she ended up not filling the tag.  My wife would be happy with that buck though.

Just thought I'd revive my original post... If anyone sees a buck worth talking about in little naches or umptanum within the next couple weeks I'd love to hear about it.
Unfortunately finding a babysitter is not going to be easy so except for a few days we are probably gonna be stuck to road hunting while the kids watch dvds in the back  :bash:.

After the fog last weekend I'm hoping we can have some clear skies Friday when we start hunting again so I can at least start classing some animals.  Sucks working this week with clear skies all around...

probably won't find a wall hanger in there, but there are a few solid bucks.

The wife made a great shot today.  164 yards and dropped a nice wide 2x3 in its bed.  Awesome stalk ended with a great shot!
