Title: Any Winchester XPR Shooters Have Info?
Post by: highside74 on June 18, 2017, 09:24:00 PM
Now that the rifle has been out for a bit I was wondering what your experiences have been. I am first and foremost an archery guy but my son's are starting to hunt with a rifle and I have thought about taking them to Idaho for a hunt. I don't currently own a hunting rifle of my own to hunt with. My initial thought was a price range of about $1000 for a rifle like a Browning Xblot Hells Canyon Speed. The XPR is about $570 ish and wasn't on my radar but I have found them on sale and with a $100 dollar rebate it would be a $300 gun. I can afford the $1000 but do I need to for a rifle that will be used minimally at most? But I don't want to cheap out and then kick my self it is a sub part firearm. Thanks

I have one in .243. I have nothing bad to say about it other than the trigger doesn't adjust light enough for me and there's not much for aftermarket stuff. For $300 your gonna have a hard time finding a better rifle. Mine shoots sub MOA with factory ammo.  :twocents:

Tikka T3x superlite was on my list and looks legit on Cabelas webpage but it is only offered by them in ugly camo. After looking around for info online I have found that Sportsmans carries the superlite in black and stainless and it's  $150 cheaper. If it is as good as the things I've been reading I think it sounds like a winner.
