Nice step in the right direction!!

God, those readers are clueless. :bash:

It would be nice it they do like they did with the wolves everyone can buy a tag and season ends when the quota is met
-
If it ever happens it will be an OIL tag. Can't say I'd disagree with that either

Do they have Governor's tags there? I assume non-residents get to apply for OIL too. Can see where it might be the tag that brings a little change to the system.
-
Only 2 gov tags for sheep and non res can put in for OIL tags. But hopefully Wyoming doesn't screw it up like they did the wolves when they got delisted and are wolf season got shut down because of them

They had a grizzly season like that when I lived in Northwest Montana. It worked great I think the tag was 50 bucks and season was closed when the quota was met. Enviros got it shut down but it worked perfectly and took care of a lot of problem bears because they were usually the first to get shot. I agree that would work in certain areas of Idaho for sure and that's what I am rooting for.

If they went with a quota that'd be awesome but I'm betting it'll be an OIL draw tag.

You are probably right but we can always hope! I did the unlimited sheep hunt in Montana when I lived there too. Its a great opportunity for hunters if they will consider it for grizzlies as well. I got a ram on that hunt and it will probably be the only sheep hunt I ever get to do. I think it cost 50 bucks at that time!

I doubt they will make it a OIL because they know how much money they will make because everyone will buy a tag compared to a few putting in for OIL tags. Look at how cheap they made the wolve tags knowing everyone in the state and every nr is going to buy one
-
Yeah the grizzly population and reproduction rate is substantially different than wolfs which would make me think if they started a season in the next couple years I'd be surprised if either the limit or tag allocation whichever route they go is more than 10 bears statewide.
