I thought it would be cool if people might share pictures of bucks harvested under a special permit. Please post a pic or two, tell us what unit, year, tag type, anything else you want. Maybe this will cause me to actually start applying for special permits instead of saving for some dream hunt somewhere.
-
And we all want more people to apply ! :chuckle:

Right right! I'll stay out of that game for now. Thought there would be more takers here. I suppose I'll have to use the darn search function to individually find pics of permit bucks on here. I just wanna see what kind of animals people take in those late hunts.

Why bother with the low odds of a special permit draw in WA? I choose to promote the general season tags. :chuckle: It's a lot more fun shooting them early and making those permit holders work for their buck.

Jeez that buck makes me giddy. They don't get much better here.
-
Great buck, especially for general season. :tup:

@Miles
Oh goodness! That's a beast!
-
04',06',14'... 06' is the bottom buck, and 14' is wide massive two thingy!
-
@crabcreekhunter:
Those are all amazing. Thanks for sharing. That two point thingy is interesting; I wonder if it's actually pretty old and might be regressing a bit.
-
He was super old wouldnt have made it through the winter, teeth are almost gone but was rutting really hard, about a quater inch shy of the 30" and 6.5-7" bases. Neat old warrior!

That's cool man. Your experience speaks for itself. I've been questing after a mule like any one of those for a grip. I think whitetails are much easier to locate and pattern.

Here is a picture of a dandy Wa. buck. He broke his droptine off.
-
@Griiz that's an insane WA buck. What is it, 6 by 8"? If you get a chance let us know if that's a special permit buck or OTC. Thanks for sharing.
-
This is a great thread to get folks pumped for hunting season.
This is my one and only special permit buck. November 2010 in the Tucannon.

Awesome buck! But I gotta ask....why does his top notch look like a poodle? or is it just this pic?
-
I think you're looking at his knee above the bucks forehead. That is a stud buck.

6*7, permit. He had a 10 inch drop a week earlier.

His head was like a goat. Short and wide. He was an old and ugly buck.

Incredible buck Griiz! Congrats! I thought the same thing about his top knot in but its just a carhart clad knee that makes it look like that in the pic.

@Miles
You don't seem to need a quality tag!
Everyone else, great bucks thanks for sharing.

I've never applied for one in wa. I hunt with my dad (who flys out) every year, so we always just stuck with general tags. Here's one of his wa bucks.

Miles I only took my son hunting in Washington before he was old enough to hunt deer in Idaho so I am no expert. But isn't it illegal to shoot really nice bucks in Washington without a special permit? All I know is what I read on huntwa so not trying to stir the pot. Ha ha way to go those are some great bucks and everyone else too. Nice bucks thanks for posting!

Ya I was gonna say that. The order the pics went in are backwards and I must have changed the color on the Cowiche buck because the pic cam out weird and kinda blurry. Here's a better pic.
