So a friend of mine called me the other day about drawing this tag, he has some help and info, he just wanted me to ask the Huntwa guys. Heck of a nice guy so I just wanted to see if anyone had a good place or places I can recommend. PM's are great if you want to keep it on the down low. Thanks guys.

Jerry, I'm sure it's like the methow and desert, they're all gone, wolves got em, winter kill blah blah blah!!! Haha
-
I'm not sure of the exact boundaries but it was never hard to locate moose around Hunters Springdale pass.

Don't have any advice on the unit, but good moose advice is to only glass uphill from the truck. Hope he finds what he wants, and on the uphill side!

One last call out to the guys in the know, dean leaves this weekend. He has only seen a small bull on his scouting trips, any hot off the press good info for him to pass along?? And thanks to all those who have passed on info here and in PM's.
-
Has he contacted the area wildlife biologist or local game warden? Funny as it may seem, they have always been helpful in the past with assisting tag holders for moose. I have hunted late Whitetail in that area several times, and have always found plenty of bulls, but that was before the last fire. Hope he kills a giant, saw one in there 3 years ago that pushed 50"!
-
Some may argue, but the wolves have impacted the moose and apparently so have the ticks. There are still moose on Hunters/Springdale that's probably the best area in 121, but it's not as good as it used to be, but, I don't think any places are as good now as they used to be five years ago. :twocents:

oops, sorry I forgot to update. Yes, dean got a nice bull on the Monday after the opener, I will ask for permission to post picks. Thanks again for all the help!
-
I will post pics one at a time, my internet sucks. I will paste what Dean said, he passed this bull the first day, then they saw a few smaller bulls is all the next couple days. He decided to take this bull on the Monday after opener. He found out just how much pressure comes with big tags. The bull was 49.5" wide. This was a short response from dean.
tell them I appreciate all the help. Spent a lot of time scouting around stranger mountain but ended up seeing all the animals south of Spring Dale pass

If your internet fast enough to Netflix its way fast enough to post a picture you probably need to resize or crop it then post it
