Title: A friend drew huckleberry A any moose, any info I can pass on?
Post by: trophyhunt on June 27, 2017, 04:01:44 PM: So a friend of mine called me the other day about drawing this tag, he has some help and info, he just wanted me to ask the Huntwa guys. Heck of a nice guy so I just wanted to see if anyone had a good place or places I can recommend. PM's are great if you want to keep it on the down low. Thanks guys.

I think this is sound advise ,and a excellent place to start.

Funny as it may seem, they have always been helpful in the past with assisting tag holders for moose. I have hunted late Whitetail in that area several times, and have always found plenty of bulls, but that was before the last fire. Hope he kills a giant, saw one in there 3 years ago that pushed 50"!

There are still moose on Hunters/Springdale that's probably the best area in 121, but it's not as good as it used to be, but, I don't think any places are as good now as they used to be five years ago. :twocents:

oops, sorry I forgot to update. Yes, dean got a nice bull on the Monday after the opener, I will ask for permission to post picks. Thanks again for all the help!

I will paste what Dean said, he passed this bull the first day, then they saw a few smaller bulls is all the next couple days. He decided to take this bull on the Monday after opener. He found out just how much pressure comes with big tags. The bull was 49.5" wide. This was a short response from dean.

tell them I appreciate all the help. Spent a lot of time scouting around stranger mountain but ended up seeing all the animals south of Spring Dale pass
