Photobucket is no longer allowing you to post YOUR pictures in third party sites. :bdid: LIKE THIS ONE. They now want $400.00 per year upgrade to allow this. :bash: This is creating havoc all over forums throughout the web. Tutorials are lost as well as ride and hunting/fishing reports that have pics attached.
I say GOODBYE!
Now hosting my photos in google photos.
-
That really stinks. It's the only reason I ever used it. Thanks for posting this.

Free to $400 a year is pretty steep. What changed? They get bought up? Loose a bunch of add revenue?

Original removed.
More likely that they are simply looking to monetize the platform a little more after growing it user base. I suspect they'll pull back a bit with ad supported freebies. Or die.

I just tested cubeupload and it worked for me.
https://cubeupload.com/
Upload images, copy the "Direct Link", and paste it between the img delimiters.

I've always hated PB
I used to use imageshack, not sure what I'd use now. A lot of images are going to go to facebook stories which I hate that idea they get enough crap we don't need a single source multimedia megagiant :bash:
-
This is from my PB account, taken and downloaded there last week, no upgrade :dunno:

They will disappear as they make their way through all the users. Mine finally went down yesterday. Hours and days of work building picture threads here and elsewhere all down the drain. screw you Photobucket. I hope the business fails and the decision maker of this gets their balls slammed in a metal door over and over or their overies pierced with darts thousands of times.
-
Weren't they making a fortune off the annoying pop-up adds that made me hate using what used to be a cool place to store photos? I'm out.
-
Time to move all my pics to somewhere else :bash:

I changed over to google pics.
We all know google is going to rule the earth someday anyway. :yike:

Saw this on another site. Don't know if it works since I deleted my photobucket account.....
Unless the user deleted their photobucket account, every old photobucket image is still linked on this website (and every other place on the internet).
There are Free Add-Ons available for both Chrome and Firefox, which will let you choose to see the original photo instead of the "ransom block" image, throughout the Internet.
For Chrome - chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... aedg?hl=en
Then search for PHOTOBUCKET Hotlink Fix
for Firefox - addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/photobucket-fix/
With this, you can see everyone's old photobucket images in context on every thread and every website.
Uploading the patch, you're not doing photobucket any favors, giving them any money, agreeing with them - all you're doing is restoring your old knowledge base to where it was before the photobucket ransom
If you want to remove the add on later, go to Add-ons/Extensions and remove or disable it, or with Chrome, just right-click on your toolbar.

Is there a free and easy place to transfer all photobucket pics and then delete PB account?
-
Ive been using photobucket for years and all this fall. Not sure of any problems. I think my photos have been posting on here

I hear people using Flickr.
I only use my home computer for storage of photos.

Have you been paying for storage on photobucket?
-
Well I got my threatening email yesterday saying my account is coming to an end. 400 bucks a year. I dont think so!
Yes Brute, but its like 30 bucks a year. I thought that was bad enough, but worth it to share pics on here for you all. 400 per year, um no! There is alot of content on here that is going to disappear.
-
Brute's suggested fix for Firefox works for me on the viewing end, but doesn't help with the posting end.
I got burned by Imageshack first, then Photobucket. I'm over it now, will likely just continue to post directly in threads and not externally host. And post a lot less imagery.
Unless Dale wants to get into the hosting business... For a reasonable fee?

Well that sucks.
It's going to screw up a lot of threads for sure :bash:

One of the forums I am on, had every image on it via Photobucket. It will be a lot different after this kicks in. Only reason I used PB was to post pictures on it as it was required.
