Title: Problem with Rino 655T
Post by: pianoman9701 on July 17, 2017, 05:56:43 AM
My Garmin went a little nuts yesterday and the direction of travel arrow would only point south. It was OK after I rebooted. But, has anyone had this happen and is it a harbinger of bad things to come?

My 650 rino did it once and only once about a year ago.  Same thing reboot fixed.  I think the sensors need to be recalibrated, which a power down will do sort of.  Or, just recalibrate using instructions that should be in the instruction manual.  Be sure to be away from anything big and metallic when you do your recalibration.  I can't remember off the top of my head what the steps were, but it's in the manual.

You should be able to look up YouTube videos on how to do it too.

I regularly recalibrate when ever I move a lot of distance.

Also if you have it set to use some of the land base repeater stations, that can cause issues in the mountains because their signal goes in and out. I always turn that function off.
