Or are we all waiting for it to cool down a few degrees? :o
-
I'm waiting.
-
Waiting for the hides to get better and waiting for the weather to cool off. Good luck this fall everyone!
-
I'm hunting in the evening, the temps have been dropping off and the berries are just starting to ripen. Did some scouting over the weekend. Found some sign so I'm gonna give it a go.
-
Really want to, but have a few other obligations that roped me in. >:(
-
Leaving for the coast. Week calling bears. Cant find out if promiseland is open Raynier land fire danger. So will hit clear water I guess. Rick

I would have considered going in the evening after work but it's going to be way too hot. Not fun! I looked at the hourly weather on the weather app on my phone, and it shows 89 degrees at 7:00 PM, 84 degrees at 8:00, and 79 at 9:00. For me, morning would be the only option, so hopefully I'll be able to get out there early Friday morning.
-
Its gonna be a hot one. Good luck guys. Get your meat out quick. Its a no go for me for a while. Just too much going on. :(
-
Way too hot. Not gonna chance it
-
Good luck all.
-
Good luck guys. Gonna have to wait a bit myself. Schedule is just too slammed.

Good luck folks. Having to delay my start due to last minute issues. Hope the weather cools down for you all.
-
When Bearmanric talks, I listen. The coast is the place to be with this weather.
-
I'll be out, cow tag starts tomorrow and maybe find a bear early if lucky. Good luck you guys. Shoot straight!
-
Check the regs before you go, it's a scatter board of different dates in different units. Way too hot for me. I love it when the guys w bait post within a couple hours of light on opening day, just happen on this bear in the woods! :chuckle: :chuckle:

Headed out with the wife in the evening, and this weekend with my son. Can't find bears at home and if I am going to sweat my butt of I may as well be in the woods.
-
My bear area doesn't open until September 1st. I can't wait for my vacation September 1st-6th. Right now it's too hot for me anyways.
-
Still too much snow in our spot last week. Maybe go out saturday
-
Sitting at home go see the knee dr in issaquah at 1:30 so I'm sitting this one out

Waiting until the 15th.

Was only 62 at 5am (I didn't go). By 10am we are choked thick with smoke, visibility absolutely sucks.

Went out for a short evening scout/hunt session. 88 degrees, saw a small buck, then three cow elk, then a bull elk, then four more doe and yearling combinations as I moved around. Zero bear.
Several idiots were heading in at full speed, fishtailing up the gravel roads and into the hills at last light as I was leaving. Night hunters I guess.

Bears are still down low for the most part

The only fully ripe berries I have found down low are thimbleberries
Good luck to all!

Yea I found loads of them but didn't look like anything was eating them. Blackberries are a week or so out in the area I was in.
-

-

-
With the cooler temps tomorrow, I'll be out tomorrow.

Ahh the infamous rock pile. Don't fall off.
-
Definitely keep a eye down to the left bottom I've seen them and shot them down in there . Stay there until it's black out
-
I'm seriously contemplating it though I hate early season hunting. I know where there are a couple feeding and there's a lot of color phase genes in the area. Anyways, thinking about it, but have lots of other priorities.
-
Thanks jake and 7mm. Gearing up now.
-
Boneaddict I'm sure we can help take a couple off ur hands if ur willing lol

All set!
-
Cooling off...ready for some action. Heck....gimmie a yote in the kill zone!

Let us know how it is. If this is the same area you caught me on a game camera a couple years ago i think i know where your talking about. :chuckle: :chuckle:
I saw a flushed a decent 5' bear in there last night but was not able to get a shot off. Went back this morning but it was pretty quiet and there were 4 trucks at the gate.
-
Yep. Im just up on top. Pretty quiet but glad to hear about the encounter. I wont be out tomorrow so its all yours if you were planning on going.
