Ccol pic.

Thanks for sharing.

That doesn't look like classic bear country - to me.
Have you seen bears out there before?

It is my understanding (I could be way off base here) that the deeper parts of the Yakama reservation are off limits to non-tribal members, and as such I have never been able to go there.  Basically, just to the NE of Mt. Adams, east of the divide, still high in elevation but still eastern Washington steppe country.  I am guessing this photo was taken in that area.  I would not be surprised to see a bear out there, especially if this is actually close to timber.

It is funny, there is a bear season described around the Tri-Cities, but there were never any bears around there when I was a kid (many moons ago).  I like this picture, it is really charming.  Yes, a nice looking bear, I would love to have a chance at one like that.  Thanks for the picture.

A few Yakama's hunt them, but not many, I don't hunt them. This one had to be over the 300# easy, there was a horse hit and that is what he was eating on, this is above White Swan inside the closed area, there are alot of bears this size up in the closed area, last weekend up there we saw 5 bears total all close or right on the main roads.

I did a job for YN at Castile Falls a few years back.  We always saw a few bears in the closed areas, each trip in.

Awesome.   I should have went down to see what I could see this morning.   Clear fresh air, I might even have been able to take a decent photo.

Those moms are cool like that...especially from the truck.   Not as relaxing then when you bump into them in the brush and they do that. Lol
