Title: Elk permits= What one would you want

The only problem with that tag is the risk of being shut down due to fire danger. The only better tag would be a bull permit for the Loo-Wit! It will probably never be offered though.

i think a bull tag somewhere in the southeast would be the cats ass...but i don't do the elk thing much yet so i don't know much about the tags/seasons/etc. i did see a huge bull there last fall in the blues.

West side Margaret or Toutle. I have 9 points and hope to draw either Margaret or Toutle bull. We scout both and have cams up. When my brother in law and i get drawn we will have the opportunity for a real nice bull.

The Wenaha and WaterShed would be my two choices for sure! Also Klicker Mountain which is Blue Creek "B" I think... Seen lots of good bulls there while scouting for deer!

Post by: shag on May 10, 2007, 07:33:02 PM: If I had the time I'd put in for eastside tags. And if I didn't draw I'd hit the NE corner of the state. I've scored bull's taken outa the Mettaline area that go 350 plus! We found one dead one year that had gotten tangled up in the barbed wire fence. It scores 369! Saw one up there that was an honest 400 incher. Took a plane ride up there about 6 yrs ago and circled what I thought was a 380 class bull standing in a pond on the same private ground that the dead fence bull was found on!!

The NE corner is as tough a hunt as they come. Very thick!!!! I feel a bowhunter would have a great shot a tagging a 330-340 class bull. It's an any bull hunt. And the elk are far and few between. But with alot of scouting you can find pockets of them. It took my partner and I three years of very hard scouting and hunting deer to locate a good spot and even then it was real tough.

The NE corner has great bull's that are real hard to locate. But most likley if you shoot a branched bull it will be close if not bigger than any other bull you've ever shot.

Post by: boneaddict on May 14, 2007, 09:40:04 AM: I guessed him to be in the 360's I think. It helps he is a true 7x7 and he isn't as short up front as you might think, though he is compared to the rest of him. I was dieing to find his sheds to get a tape on them, but no luck.

Post by: Ironhead on May 16, 2007, 12:39:25 AM: Hard to tell from a pic probabally just the angle but as a rule if they aren't passed the tip of his nose even with a descent curl they aren't much over 16" . He is a big bull reguardless of his fronts I would definately let an arrow fly.
