If the square color is green, it indicates that member is currently online. If it is yellow, it shows that they are logged off.Different squares.

You and I have a single yellow square over our avatars. Quadfire has 5 yellow squares over his.
I've noticed some people have blue and others have red.

I don't get that even though clearly that's what it says it clearly in your screenshot. Curly has 1 yellow and he's an Explorer with 17k+ posts.

Hey, I just tried that and it worked for me too. Now I have more boxes than I know what to do with. 8)
