Just wondering if anyone here has ever hunted fallow deer... this is one i got a couple years ago... I've heard that at one point there was or still is some free range in washington. True???
-
no but i have heard stories of a couple out by orting somewhere? and i have seen them at the olympic game farm and they were dandys

Unfortunately species like Fallow and Sika are causing our deer herds a ton of damage with the lice they've brought in. Nothing personal, but I'd be just fine if they'd send them back where they came from.

I think about 16 of them were killed around springdale in the late 80"s when a bunch escaped. I saw one 4 yrs ago by my house in Deer Park, didnt know I could legaly kill it, ever saw it again :(

So what is the law, can you shoot them if you see them free range? (public land)

I went up to Victoria Island Sea kayaking for four days about six years ago & every morning a large herd was in the meadow next to our camp ground. I got up every morning & watched them over a cup of coffee. They would start filtering into the woods about a half hour after first light. They are a cool animal, actually majestic looking. Seemed larger than our deer, would love to bow hunt them for sure. Mike
