where can I get good info on the various brands; models of mt. bikes (fat tire style) and e-mt. bikes?
-
SKAGIT CYCLE
BURLINGTON
-
Look at QuietKat, they make several models for hunting. I just bought a mt bike from them. An interesting machine.
-
Was checking out Rad Rover, not quite as expensive as the others.

Always had great service here.

I'll be in the market as soon as my ACL heals up. Are there any good forums that a guy can get good info on? I'm looking at bikes for hunting and pulling a trailer with camp gear.

Nick and Carolyn at Bike Spot in Anacortes would be a good resource for you. Get the best bike you can afford it really is worth it. In the off season find some trails and ride as much as you can, it is a blast. Good luck

Outdoor emporium in Seattle has a few to choose from .
-
Be advised most industrial timberland's do not allow electric bikes. A motor is a motor!
-
Support your local bike shop! They will be the best knowledge and be able to get you set up with the right ride, no problem.

anyone use fat tire bike
-
Yes I use a Fat Tire bike!

Your local bike shop is a great place to get info- just like a local sporting goods store those are people who live their hobby.
As far as online sources of info, I have been a member of bikeforums.com for over 10 years and is a wealth of information. For your needs, I would take a look at the touring section. Careful on there though...imagine hunt-wa but instead full of cyclists. :chuckle:
I'm also a few years behind the curve on tech, but I worked a couple years in a bike shop and would be happy to offer any info if you have specific questions.

Labs07 what can you tell me about fat bikes?

Is yours an e-bike or standard bike?

What bike shop in Spokane do you recommend?

Where is everyone using E bikes? I have yet to see a gate that didnt say no motorized vehicles.
-
We only pedal them so its not really motorized lol.

These look pretty good for the price. The others I've seen that look comparable are twice as much $$.

My bike is not an e-bike. It is really great in the woods and plenty of gears to get you through most of the stuff you need. It is HEAVY but very robust. I bought a Cogburn fatbike and have been very happy with it so far! Hope the pic comes through.

Labs07 where did you get those racks for that bike
-
Got the racks at the bike shop. They are Axum (spelling) racks....

Thanks

Well I'm no longer looking for a electric mountain bike as they are legal on Washington state roads up to 1000 watts BUT ARE ILLEGAL on Washington fish & wildlife; BLM; DNR and USFS and US wildlife refuges land except where motorcycles and off road vehicles are allowed. They are considered motorized and you will get a ticket and maybe have the bike confiscated.
So all the information in recent magazines articles and information I got from bicycle shops is all wrong.
