Hey folks,
I blew a stalk on a nice bear yesterday during the high buck hunt, and in the process came across this guy. Is it common for bears to go after coyotes? Or do you think the coyote was pestering the bear somehow and the bear had enough?
I should have included my boot for scale, but this is a full-grown, average-to-big coyote.

I think a bear will eat a coyote no problem. I have called in bear with coyote pup distress several times.

Yes to bears eating coyotes. I shot and left one near Mason Lake this summer. Came back a week later, bear sign and one very chewed up coyote. Yummy.

Bears eat bears. Why not a yote? I cant think of a more opportunistic animal.

Bears will eat definitely eat maggots off of whatever meat maggots grow in. I also believe they would eat coyote meat.
