Hey guys not finding much on late season archery elk. This is my first year bow hunting any tips or advice would be awesome thanks!

Spend time in the woods before season.

Late season can be tough, the weather can be obnoxious, seems like ours raining or the bitter cold. The elk are jumpy but generally I found they are in thicker cover in the same general area they always are in. They seem to come back to the same area every three to four weeks in the area I hunt.

West side is pretty vague. What tag do you have? Where do you wanna hunt (give or take 10 sq miles)
These guys are great about specific area advice, So be specific and you will probably get someone to chime in on their favorite stomping grounds. 😎

Well I’ve got the Weyerhaeuser St. Helens drive in permit. So info on the Winston preferably. But not opposed to trying something different. That area seem pretty bare during the early archery season.

Winston= reprod and swamps. Good luck!

get you a decent hand held GPS that basically shows the boundaries between weyco and private lands...hunt those boundary areas. we've had a lot of success with elk moving from the weyco bedding areas into the private land feeding areas

Thanks 👍🏻

Go up Winston creek road and hang a right at the access gate. Hunt any of the clear cuts in there. There's alot of elk!
