After seeing Scott Haugen's show on Netflix, I don't have any need to hear him.

:yeah: he is a tool

Yeah not a fan. His Netflix show gives off an air of arrogance that I prefer not to connect with hunting.
I think the guy is knowledgeable but I can't really get into watching shows about expensive guided hunts on private land. To each their own but IMHO the real studs are the guys like Rinella who are doing quite a few filmed hunts on public land that we all have access to.

What show are you referring to? I know Scott and have a very different opinion of him. He's a tried and true blacktail hunter, where there is no off season. And he's busted his ass for a a forked horn more times than most know, that's blacktail hunting. You should reach out to him and ask how he feels about the television hunting industry and get his views. They are eye opening. He values the hunting heritage like many of us and is a wealth of knowledge. FWIW :twocents:

never seen his show. just at work and flipping through blacktail tips and saw the video. put it on and listened while working. all seemed somewhat basic but still i see im not the only newbie here and hell... hunting podcast? ill take what i can get.

I will watch this video and give my opinion based on what is in it. I ripped him in a review of his book for "product pumping." But that was the book. I haven't seen this vid yet, but will hopefully get the opportunity tonight.

not a video, its a podcast posted to youtube. first 10 mins yea... product pushing (calls and scents, it is a podcast... have to make some money) but
talks about some methods he uses and other things. all in all i found some info helpful. its not amazing but like i said while working and having this just in the background was a nice listen. if anyone has some cool podcasts about hunting stories id love to hear em. reading and listening to success stories are always fun.

I have no problem at all w/advertising. What I adamantly object to is surreptitiously inserting it into the content. Looking forward to listening to it. Thank you for providing the link.

I don't think anyone here is naive enough to not understand how money has to flow....
I think overall, other than the huge delta in realism between his hunts and the average hunters... Is what starts at :38

I'm talking about his series on Netflix where he hunts blacktails in back yards and shoots bears in the guts.
