Title: Solar Chargers
Post by: jaredwitman on October 22, 2017, 08:03:28 PM
Anyone using solar chargers for your GPS or cell phone out in the field? I am looking for something small I could hang off my pack and my only real need is to charge my garmin rhino 530. I have other means of charging but have been wanting to try one of these for awhile. thoughts?

I have a goal zero, perhaps I had the wrong cord or goal zero battery pack needs to be plugged into the solar panel to charge my phone, all I kow is at night the battery pack wouldn't charge it.camp is always by the truck so that's all the experince I have with it over the last 5 years

I am using this set-up.  The solar panel helps charge the two batteries more quickly.  The batteries last a long time and charge things quickly.  I actually toss one in my work bag when traveling so I can charge on the move.
