Time to get the fawn in distress call out and go nuts.

Looks like a wolf to me, I saw a wolf pup in the east wenaha this past spring.

@bluesarcher
Sure looks like a wolf.
-
must be why the deer and elk numbers seem way down.
-
nice trifecta of predators you got there
-
I was really surprised at how few deer and elk I saw in the wenaha during spring bear for how much we glassed and hiked
-
its a wolf

:yeah:
-
Yup, wolf.

There are wolves all over in the Dayton unit. My brother saw the same black wolf this spring in the west side of the unit and there were wolf tracks all over the Payne Hollow Road late this summer.
-
I have seen plenty in 162 as well.
-
There has been a confirmed pack in the Tucannon since 2013 and a pending confirmed Touche pack, along with plenty of random sightings all over including the farm country outside Pomeroy. Wolves in the Dayton shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone.
:dunno:

The state said there is a rancher on Robinette mountain has heard lots of howling near his pastured cows and has heeded the states advice to increase human activity in the area.
