This is a test limb, to see if we like it. If this is agreeable for a limb...I'll go with it asap... :dunno:
Personally...I think its the most beautiful limb material I've ever worked with!! :P

Looks great! That's going to be an awesome bow

Lowe, it does have a Macassar Ebony look to it.. Mac Eb is probably my favorite wood ever...

If I am ever to have a third one, ME will most likely be my choice. Kinda of a spendy hunk of wood. But it is insanely gorgeous.
-
Very nice!! Do you mind if I ask if you are going to use any other material under the Zebra Wood?

Great stuff. I made my bathroom out of zebrawood and purpleheart...
-
Shawn, I think you better take some pics of your bathroom and put them on this thread! :o I'd like to see that...
Lowe... what you are seeing in that pic is the belly side of a limb blank that I glued up.. that is a veneer of zebrawood that is 18 thousandths of an inch thick, underneath clear glass that is .032... behind that veneer is a .065 piece of maple, then a .055 piece of walnut, then a .110 piece of laminated bamboo, then a piece of .028 carbon fiber, then another .018 zebra and finally, a piece of clear glass on the back of the bow that is .015.
So... Lots of things under that zebra! :chuckle:
Most of my bows are 2-3 lams of wood or boo under the glass...

Sounds like a nice set up! Should really zip an arrow! What weight are you looking to get out of it?
-
So are you retiring the other one bone?
-
pretty good chance you'll see some purpleheart on this fellow Pope. ;)
Probably around 65 pounds or so. My current one is around 80. :) HS assures me that the arrows will zip at 65 still.
No Moss the curent rocket launcher will still be on the harvest.

This is what my wife wanted so that's what I made her. It's definitely unique.
Sorry Bone... :jacked:

WOW those are beautiful cabinets.....
-
No problem man. Thats cool. NOT going to let Lil' Bone see this one though.......
-
Dang, that thing is simply beautiful! When I switch to traditional that's what I want. Hornseeker, make sure to keep that recipe on file. One of these days the $650 will fall off my money tree, and I'll be making a call. Good luck with that piece this September, Bone!

Thanks Todd, I can't wait. With that multiseason permit in my pocket this fall I ought to have a lot of time in the woods after that big one.
-
NICE WORK Shawn. Wow... Ive built a lot of cabinets, but Hickory, Alder, Cherry, Pine, Maple and VG Fir were pretty much the only woods I've used on cabinets.... NICE Job...
Yeah...we are shooting for about 65# at Doug's 32" draw weight...
Thanks for all the compliments... I am also looking foward to seeing this thing come together...
