Today I was able to get 3 traps out. Will see though the canals were really low. I opened up the pipe that fed the canal. The Beavers completely blocked it off. Hope that fills it up soon. Water levels are very low about a foot below the dam. I placed one trap in the dam opened it up a little bit. Also placed to swim through two different locations and channels hoping to get one in the next couple days we'll see.

Hard to see but in your damn break set your traps above the damn are under the water? Or is the end of the trap in the opening of the damn break?

it's in the opening of the dam break. It is a one-way door cat trap that Bruce made so I placed the opening of the door towards the pond it's 50-50 so the beaver can just swim right into it and I have a Castor inside.

Well today with the flood coming the beavers came out strong to repair the dams. 4 swim thru's and 4 beavers not bad day of trapping.  If you look closely. You can see my drive sticks and Guillotine door trap in the pics.

Yesterday was a good day to. I got a call from the farmer and there was a beaver in one of the traps. He couldn't get to the rest of them because of the flooding. So I showed up yesterday and the first trap was empty and doors shut. Dang it I missed him. The beaver cut down trees just passed the trap. Hmmmmm well I reset the trap and crossed my fingers. Then I checked the next 4 trap had beavers in them. I didn't have enough swim through traps. So I used Bruce's cat trap and placed it in the water down the run and end up with a beaver in it. Not too shabby so far 10 beaver from that pond the farmer is very happy and I have a new trapping spot.

Today I hung 9 beaver carcasses am I trapping area and placed one trail camera. I'll see you in a couple weeks if it produces some animals and then I'll get some traps out. Today I caught one Beaver about 25 lb roughly and a muskrat.

Today was slow only 1 muskrat. The beavers are getting smarter. I moved most of the traps to new runs because of the high waters. Hoping this will work I'll check them in 3 days. Then I'll check my trailcam at the bait site out in the woods. Getting antsy to see if they're being hit.

50 pounder caught the other day. Pulled my traps off the farmer's land. 12 Beavers, 5 Muskrats taken there. I think he might be the last one. Well until next season when more move in. I also used there body's for my bait cat sites. Redtails hawk's and others critters are hitting the sites but no cats on cam

You could cover the bait with boughs so the hawks won't see it.  Even a single feather tied to a cotton thread hung from a branch near the bait can flag in cats.  Those cheap molded bird seed bells will attract noisy little birds which can also get a cats attention.

That's way I let all the animals fine it. I was going to dump them in the trash anyways. So might as well feed the critters at all my bait sites. Then I will place traps after the baits are close to being gone and showing 🐈 sign. The area last season was a dumping ground for hunters and farmer's. Deer ribs and goats skeletons up and down the road. Lots of critters.

The other trap was hung up on the trigger wires and held the doors open. :bash: 2 out of 4 cat traps were set off by spotted skunks. What do you mean turds piles? Just trying to finish the trapping season close to home to save money since I am not working. Not going to do it for free during the off season.
