Not my picture or post, just sharing:

With a doe tag in my pocket, down she goes.

I love huntn always have , but shootn a doe with an orange vest on, well your just asking for years of bad huntn karma !! It's one doe, me personally I don't think ANYONE should be allowed to shoot a doe unless your a youth , disabled or senior!!
-
I'd get a full mount done with the vest. :chuckle:
-
There's lots of does around without resorting to shooting someone's pet. :twocents:
-
I wouldn't shoot it, as long as it was done legally I wouldn't fault another hunter who did.
-
I wouldn't face the wrath from my neighbors over a doe they managed to put a vest on... now if it was a 140 class black tail I'd be trying to figure out where to place the mount that didn't display it for everyone to see.

Shoot another doe, then call this one over to help pack it out. If only that vest had saddle bags on it.
or
just have this one accompany you while you hunt the rut....rules say I can't hunt deer with a dog but what about a pet deer.
-
This deer has been hand-fed corn and apples. Get in my belly!
-
Even though it may be legal don't shoot. All it takes is one neighbor to freak out because you shot their pet and there will be a reporter and camera crew at your door wanting to know why you shot a pet deer. There are other deer out there, don't risk giving hunters another black eye.
-
Pretty sure nobody needs to shoot a puny doe like that bad enough to warrant shooting someone's pet. Talk about not doing squat to improve hunter image...
Does the downtown Gig Harbor buck being talked about in another thread do any good for our image? Same type story.

Pretty well sums it up. Legal does not always equal correct.
Although I disagree with it being a pet. A dog or cat is a pet, this is a wild animal that has been tamed.
Having said that, I still think jackelope's assement and comparison is spot on.

To be honest, can't say this didn't cross my mind when I read it, though... :tung:

I can’t believe anyone would be excited or desperate enough to kill a pet. I’m not sure I’d even shoot a collared animal except maybe a wolf 🐺. Lol.

Savage! :chuckle:

I'm getting me a pet (decoy) deer pronto. You dummies go ahead and buy some doe in heat. Not me....I'm bringing Ms. Bambi, center stage!
-
Awesome new product, H2O - Genuine Doe in Heat!

This is to funny. It's all fun and games until the doe gives birth and instinct kicks-in and she dances on 1 of the "owners" with her hooves.
-
Exactly my thoughts. Wait til the rut and drop her some apples in the regular spot. Big buck coming sniffing, nose to the ground. BOOM! :bfg:
Best part, she lives another day/year to be used again :chuckle:

How do you think next year's "stock" is generated. This'll be a gold mine...or a felony. Something big!
-
Sooo!! Am I now understanding that it is acceptable to prostitute does ? Do I need to get a pimp license ? Would a leash be acceptable ? What would be the proper fees ? I see a future in this business :chuckle:
-
Excellent camo! When I see blaze orange on a hill I turn and go the other way. Unlike the hunter who saw me Saturday. He stared at me for 10 minutes and then sat down in front of me for a while.
-
How long until someone gets scratched trying to do that to a grizz?
-
That deer would walk up to you and eat out of your hand, no way I’d shoot it!

It'll be dead before long anyway. Whoever put on that ridiculous vest just compromised the deer's natural camouflage from predators. Also once the person who feeds it decides to stop feeding, moves away etc will leave the deer high and dry. Deer will have to find another food source ASAP before it die off from starvation. Leave wild animals wild. :twocents:
