Very even both side, trying to decide if he has room to grow, or regressing. Sure is hungry, hit Apple pile 6 times in 22 hours. Have to correct am and pm on cam, have them reversed.

Here is another photo

Looks to be an older buck to me.....though his body is not as big as I would expect. Could be the pics...or he is lean with not a lot of fat on him.
-
Looks like he has been through a war, ear is always hanging, scars all over, there are three bucks comparable or bigger in area with tons of does. I think old tired warrior
-
old warrior. He has seen it and done it all. best trophy ever
-
Old, gnarly, worth killing
-
Definitely an old warrior that should be laid to rest because he is being bullied by all of the bigger bodied bucks. Let me know if you need help thinning your herd. :chuckle:
-
I would bet he is around 4.5 years old, his left ear dire looks jacked up..
-
Older buck , Roman nose warrior
-
He spends about 10-15 min each visit up to 6 times a day. Exhausted and tired, hopefully his days are numbered

:yeah:

Question is, is he a shooter on opening day late season?
-
Definitely a shooter !! With blacktails it's not all about the number of tines there's slot more to them for me like
Maturity
Mass
Roman nose
To me I look for a mature buck , he might be a 2 point and never get bigger but if he is mature looking that's the deciding factor for me !

Old fella for sure, IMO may not make it another year. Ears are drooping, usually not a good sign :dunno:

That is a quality blacktail that is worth harvesting any day of the season imho.
-
I agree
-
Wall hanger for sure!
-
Beautiful buck... broken ear and all.
Would love to see him mounted on a wall with the ear hanging like that.

He's old. The last month of the rut has taken whatever fat reserves he was carying off his frame. He will not make it through the winter.
-
I will feed him till spring, If I don't get him first.
