Title: WeatherTech truck floor liners worth it???
Post by: NorseNW on November 25, 2017, 12:34:24 PM: In hopes of a cyber-Monday sale of some kind - are these really the bomb diggity as they claim? I've never had them but debating it after just cleaning out my truck. My truck is not a pavement princess but I do try to keep the inside clean-ish and at least dry. It had a clam dig from a couple weeks ago followed by a three day late season archery hunt on the coast. Both were a bit moist and sandy / muddy.

I have a healthy fear of wet stinky carpet. The extended cab in a Ford Ranger I had many moons ago had wet carpet from my dog riding back there all the time on our outings. That smell would not come out.

Thanks for any input you might be able to offer before I sink the money into expensive fancy plastic.

With general use, I can wipe them all down clean in 5 minutes with a wet hand towel in either of my crew cabs. If they are really muddy, you can pull them just like the weather techs and spray them down. In the Boss's Suburban, we have Weathertechs. You have to really work to get them as clean and generally employees the shop vac as well. Easier to pull them rather than try to scrub on them. I much prefer the Husky's

The Husky's have the same creeping/ edge curling issues, as mentioned on the Weatertechs, though I have only noticed it on the front ones for both types. I added some snaps on my Frontier and the Sub that anchor them to the plastic shrouding at he front of the door opening for both types, and additionally the shrouding on the seat anchor on the Frontier. This keeps them in place and helps them keep their shape too. On my Superduty, I just needed to anchor the driver and passenger sides to the center hump Husky cover, not into the truck shrouding. If you need to pull them, just pop the snap loose.

If you clam, hunt, shoot ducks, or basically anything a truck is designed for I would spend the 1-300 bucks to get them. We have them in our truck and Suburban and it has saved our bacon on many, many occassions.

Just sold a bunch of sets of them to one of my construction company customers. They bought 3 sets and tried them out for a while. Liked them enough that they ordered them for a bunch of their trucks.

You launch your boat and have to get in the water for some reason, then back in your rig, the lipped edge keeps the water contained till u can carefully pour it out.

No cutting required, they stay put, and they contain the snow melt like the Hoover dam. Chicks dig them, too, and now the wife is jealously coveting my floormats.

Ordered the window vent visors, too, but have not installed those yet.

They are ordered and in route. Should be here next week. I'll have them in place for the next Long Beach clam dig to catch all that sand!

Post by: NorseNW on June 12, 2019, 12:27:42 PM: I pulled this thread back up to give an update. I was thinking I've had weather tech mats for about three years apparently it's only been 1.5. Well now I'm even more unimpressed. My update is I'm not a fan of the weather techs. They were great up until about February this year. Both driver and passenger sides started curving in at the top. Passenger side was the door side / driver side was the console side. Passenger side is a real pain in the rear because your foot catches on it when getting in or out. Also getting it caught on there knocks the stuff off your boots and down behind the mat.

Emailed their customer service and they offered step by step instructions on how to basically flip them inside out on a flat surface at room temperature and put a weight on them for a few hours. Tried that once - lasted about a month. Complained again this month - got same instructions. Played the game and they are now slightly better but I would guess will curl again. Not a fan of needing to do preventative maintenance check and servicing on floor mats! Not sure if they are going to refund me or not. I told them I didn't want replacements because I doubt the issue has been fixed and I don't need two sets of floor mats that make a pita pocket.

Husky is up next for sure.
