Looking to top the new hells canyon McMillan I purchased with some decent glass. I would like something in the 3 - 15 power range, maybe more but I want the low end to be around 3 or 4 power. I have a vortex with turrets on one rifle, but have found I like the glass and veiw of my Leupold scopes a little better. I want something with regular turrets, not CDS. I would like to keep the price under $1,000.
Let’s hear the suggestions...

VX5 3-15.

I really like my zeiss hd5 but I think the turret model is similar to the cds, not positive though. Other than that great scope, feels much more refined than my vx-6

VX6 3x18 is about the best hunting scope I've found ( personal opinion) but you won't find one under a grand I don't think

VX5 3-15.
Do you know if this comes standard with moa turrets and the option for cds? I found one online but it’s unclear. It just states free cds dials with purchase.

you may be able to find a vx6 3-18 in the non hd version still for less than a grand. in my opinion that would be the best scope for the money

Not really what you want to hear but you just missed a golden opportunity a couple weeks ago because Cabelas had a one day only sale on their Zeiss HD5 5-25x50 w/RZ800 reticle for $699. That would have made for a great setup for you and well under your 1K price cap.
They'll all have sales that'll be going on from now till the first of the year so if you're in the market for some new glass, I'd check Cabelas and maybe a few others on a regular basis for the next four weeks.

The CDS come with std moa turrets and coupon for free CDS turret. Or get Kenton turret that has both on same dial.

Thanks for the info. I just picked up a vx5HD 3-15x44 shipped to my door for $687. For anyone interested opticsplanet.com has them and the discount code is BFSCP14. Code is good till the 30th I think.

Here's another good option, a Meopta 4.5-14x50 for $337, regular $900.

Cabelas has the Zeiss HD5 3-15x42 on sale for $649 right now.
I picked up the 5-25 a couple weeks ago on that one day sale and the optics are very good on these Zeiss HD scopes.
