who what when where and why.
For me it's because I have experience with all the weapons and would love the oppertuninty to really hunt the entire season. plus no pressure to take the first legal animal. Would be awesome to hunt the land and the animals
from September to December. Also the opportunity to put in for all weapons on My special permits. Goodness!
Please baby Jesus pull My name.

No I want the deer population to build up if that's at all possible

I can only take one Deer for the season? Did I do something wrong?
I don't get it? maybe because of to much hunting pressure?
Explain?
Planning for Blacktail if I get it. If that helps

Too much pressure on the deer with all the added hunters. Just me everyone has to make their own choice

That is what I thought. I get that.
interesting fact
Most of the people I have known that pull the multi season. Slack there ass off. like they have all the time in the world. LOL
they hunt about the same amount just only when they have free time.
Sorry to say that will not be me should I get the permit. one area the entire season. unless something happens to it.

Good question. I apply every year, so far, but have never bought the tag. It's sure tempting. I'd like to hunt with my bow again, it's been a few years. And I'd also like to take the muzzleloader out. My problem is with out of state hunts that I always end up doing, usually Wyoming, along with just this year beginning to get back into waterfowl hunting. Not to mention my daughter will be 12 next year and just passed hunter education last summer, so I'll be busy trying to get her out as much as possible. Just not sure I want to spend the extra money on the multi season tag and then possibly not even use it that much. Same dilemma every year!

This year a buddy and i bought MD permits for opening weekend of muzzleloader (used archery tackle). $70 a day to be in the woods isn't bad. I could think of worse things to do with $140.
Now we need to invest in muzzleloaders. :chuckle:

Save the $6.00 and just buy it when the left overs go on sale in August. Usually plenty of tags left.
-
You have to apply in the spring and spend the 6 bucks in order to have the opportunity at left over MS tags.

I'm done supporting Washington State Fish and Wolves :).
Going to be living in Idaho starting in January. I won't have residency by the time the Idaho apps come out, but that's alright. :IBCOOL:

I am putting in this year, I have got to the point in my life where I only like being in the woods if I am huntn blacktail huntn and the few days worth huntn during rifle season just isn't enough , I rarely shoot a deer because I choose not to, I passed up a 3pt with eye guards and a couple small two points!! I can't shoot myself in the tow with a bow but I am pretty good with a musket so it will give me a little more time looking for a big buck until January when I start predator huntn !!! I wish everyone would get serious about predator huntn, the game department isn't doing anything to help us maintain a descent population of deer here on the wet side , I don't know what the numbers are like on the east side but over the last 5 years I have seen a huge decline in blacktail numbers and a huge increase in cats!!

More info please
is there a link to this option.
still planning to put in but if there is an option if I don't get drawn I will be all over it.
I want to get us much time in the hunting woods with My boys before they move on and become Men.
I'm down to just three years left on the middle one. oldest is already out protecting our country (marine corps)
youngest I have for 4 years, hopefully.
More time hunting means more quality time to hook them on hunting like I have with fishing.

Done with this state, headed to Idaho and possibly Montana. I should take my Daughter to our family's land in Alabama where out of state tags are cheap and we can get 3 deer per day. The last time I was there I got a nice 4 point (10 by their standards) in less than an hour.
-
I will be. I like the ability to switch it up a little. Even though I love guns I'm not a big fan of rifle season just to many people.

You have to apply for MS to buy leftover tags

Thanks! When I have purchased left overs, I have applied. Didn't realize it was a requirement though.
-
I looked at the link
I don't see where to purchase a leftover tag?
what am I missing?

You have to apply for a multii season permitt to begin with. Not points option. Then if you dont draw they usually go otc around the 10th of august wdfw will send out an email when they become available otc

I won't be buying a MS Deer permit. I almost did one year then ended up filling my archery tag opening weekend. Not bragging.. just I know where I can find deer and I am looking to fill the freezer so antlers don't matter to me. First legal good sized deer gets an arrow. If I don't get one in the woods I can do to my families property in Onalaska and they ALWAYS have deer running around. If I don't get a deer during early or later archery ohh well. I do however, really really want the MS Elk permit!
-
Funny thing. For 13 years I got my deer every year. I had the MS tag last year and this year. Looks like I'm going g to eat tag soup again.
I guess I'm paying for more time in the woods with the potential to get one. Not just a single season. I'll apply for one again. My daughter likes taking walks with me. Good stuff! :twocents:
