Anybody out there use the hunt by reservation program often? Is there anyway to know if there’s water at some of the field sites?
-
I use them as often as I can, because land is hard to come by here. Gotta scout them, very few have I ever seen them with water, a few corn stubbles
-
Most need weather to get birds.
-
Book yourself one, when your hunt is done, go scout the others in the area out. That way you have an idea of what to expect when you want to book one again. As stated, weather is key!
-
The site says no scouting. I’m assuming you just mean drive bys and road scouting

Bring binocs and look them over from the road or parking spot. They just don't want individuals to walk into the spots and push the birds out and disturb others. I think 98% of them can be checked out from where the sign is.

Unless others are already hunting..

I will briefly pull in next to them or stop on the shoulder to glass them. Haven’t ran into any issues yet.

Nothing wrong with that.
