Title: Marlin XL7 and XS7 bolts
Post by: Alpine Mojo on March 05, 2009, 09:08:13 PM: I just saw on the Marlin website that they added a new model to their bolt action line, the XS7. From the vague description on their site I cant tell what's new, or the difference between, the two models. I have read nothing but great reviews online for the XL7 and with an MSRP of around $300, it sounds like a pretty good deal. I've been shopping around a bit and haven't found a gun shop around here that stocks either model. I really want to see one up close and check it out in person. Anyone seen one of these in your local gun shop/sporting goods store?

For an inexpensive gun they look really cool. Supposed to be great shooters to.

So, Im still trying to find a shop that carries one. They cant be that hard to find... :dunno:

the xs7 is just a short action. and they are almost exaclty the same as a savage...at half the price.

i shot a marlin xl7 in 30-06 and its savage brother and i really liked the marlin. and at half the price of the savage i would have to say the marlin is a much better deal.

i was gonna go for a higher end rifle for myself, then buy a stevens or a marlin for my gf. but now after shooting the marlin im just gonna buy a couple of them and put decent glass on them.
