Title: Looking for a new bow for my son
Post by: grimace on December 15, 2017, 09:30:44 PM
I'm kicking around the idea of getting my 16 year old son a new bow. He shoots a Diamond Edge now and it is set at 50lbs but I think he could do 60lbs.

I don't have any particular brand or bow in mind, so I would like suggestions from you all. It would be nice if the bare bow was $300-$500 max.

Since he is already a shooter, it would probably be best to let him find one that he thinks feels good.   :twocents:

Man just like fishing you should of been here yesterday. Well maybe a few days ago anyway. Jbar was selling an Elite Energy 32 with a complete setup of top flight accessories for $550.

For $500 I would look on Archery Talk or ebay for a couple year old top manufacturer like Prime, Elite, Hoyt, Mathews. Their bows a couple years used will be better than any bow new for $500 or less.

Archerytalk before ebay.  Check local pro shops also. A lot of people upgrade and leave their old bows for the shop to sell.
