Time for Hunt-WA to pull together like the amazing group of people we are. Karl Blanchard's hunting buddy Keegan Wilder and his family are going through a tough time right now and they could use Hunt-Wa's help. I know we've dug deep before in situations like this. It's time to do it again.
Have a look at his story I got from Karl.
"Keegan Wilder is not your typical 7th grader. He's a hardened mountain mule deer hunter. Though he's a little small in stature, he has the heart of a lion and is just as fierce! He had been feeling a faint pain for a few months but nothing that would have caused concern. Almost felt like a pulled muscle. He asked to be taken into the urgent care because he was having a hard time breathing without any pain. He was immediately referred to Seattle Children's where the family was given the devasting news after several blood tests, xray, and ultrasounds that he indeed had cancer. The mass is quite large behind his rib cage growing towards his lung. He had surgery within one day where they biopsied the mass to determine the exact kind of cancer (so they know what appropriate treatment to provide for that type of cancer) and also placed a port for his chemotherapy.
He recently had to have his port moved which involved a second surgery. He is having a difficult time keeping weight on so a feeding tube has been placed to help him get the calories he needs.
Keegan is the toughest kid you will ever meet. From the age of 5 he has been chasing his dad and I into some of the toughest mule deer country the west has to offer. His first deer at age 10 was over 7 miles into the Idaho backcountry. Even though he is on round 5 of chemo and very weak, he is always smiling.
Keegan and family still have a tough road ahead of them and can use our support. Life can be so cruel and no child should ever have to go through what Keegan has. Let's help make this dark time a little brighter."
Jason Phelps has donated a custom made EZ Estrus elk call that we're going to auction off. All funds will go to Keegan's family. Payment will be via paypal or personal check. I will pm the details to the winning bidder when that time comes. This auction will run until 7pm Saturday evening. Here's the kicker. There's a little competition here too. Chris Pascua will auction one off on his Facebook page "Is It September Yet" and Cody Rich is going to live auction one on his "Rich Outdoors" podcast. We're going to raise more money on our call than those guys are. That's that.
Also, I heard a rumor that Coachcw is going to match the winning bid in the form of a donation, so lets make him pay up too.
Here's a few pics of Keegan and the call that we're going to auction off.

We'll this escalated quickly! You guys are amazing!
Keegan is the toughest little *censored* you will ever meet! He's been chasing his dad around some of the most rugged country in the West since he was just a little pot licker. He's an American boy through and through and Wilder is as fitting of a last name as you can get. Always smiling. Always having fun. This hand he has been dealt is a bad one but if there is ever a kid out there that can kick the snot out of cancer it is Keegan.
More important than money raised, is letting him know there is a whole bunch of folks in his corner thinking about him and rooting him on.

lots of amazing people on this forum! Bullblaster got both Keegan AND his older brother Kayden full Sitka setups this year. Set for Keegan so he's ready to rock next year and a set for Kayden because he needs to remember that we have his back too.

$350
And someday maybe I can use it to call Keegan in a bull.
I have a boy the same age also with a heart for hunting. This hits home.
-
Another project we have going is a custom rifle build. A group of us wanted to do something that would really get him fired up for next season. Mike from Hells Canyon Armory is donating his services and is putting together one of his carbon killers in .260ai. We can update Keegan as his rifle comes to life.
Mr. Coachcw himself dropped big coin to cover the cost of the barrel. His generosity constantly inspires me

So winning bid gets the call.
Coachcw Corey is matching the winning bid in the form of a donation, and another person who wishes to remain anonymous is also going to match the winning bid in the form of a donation.
Which means this is a $1050 Phelps call at this point.

no worries man. We knew when we started this it was kind of bad timing with Christmas and all. We give what we can give. Even I'd that's just good vibes or a prayer. Like I said before, more important than the money is letting Keegan and family know we have their back!

I have a BNIB Mossberg 702 semi-auto 22 rifle that I'd like que'd up for auction when you're ready.
I bought it 4 months ago, not knowing why. Now I know.

We’ve got a few more things lined up to auction off over the next week or so. When I said I’d end this on Sunday, I wasn’t thinking about that being Christmas Eve. If there are no objections, I’m going to change it to Saturday night at 7pm to coincide with the other groups’ auctions. Then we’ll start on the others.

Just wanted to get our bid moving again. Technically we are way ahead of the #instafacechat guys, they are throwing in everything but the kitchen sink on their auction is what I am hearing.
This auction isn't about an elk call, it's about a kid that loves the outdoors and mule deer hunting. He and his family were dealt a little setback. This is about getting them back on track and letting them focus on what is important, kicking cancer in #$$!

Whoever gets this will be super happy with the call and what it symbolizes.
If I don't win this auction I plan to donate my last bid to the cause anyways, it's not about the call, it's about helping the family.
I encourage anyone that has bid on this call to donate your highest bid to the family.

I heard that Jason's $600 calls bring 320" bulls right to 25 yards, standing broadside.
But I also heard that his $700 calls bring 330" bulls right to 20 yards, standing broadside down wind. What an investment!!!!!!!
I'm currently checking with my sources for what his $1,000 calls do......

All this Truly amazes me ..... I sat there last night thinking about what this means to this family . The Ability for Mom to be able to be with her son as long as it takes to get through treatment ant the ability to free the financial stress that builds up , Then I thought about Living at Ronold Mcdonold house and what that means ( just how important that place is to keep the family atmosphere ). Not only is this gut wrenching for Keegan and his family but for many others there. As this family goes through this they will and have met other families dealing with Cancer as well . Such a amazing place no doubt but also a real reflection on whats important . I know this auction goes through Saturday night but with Christmas being in three days I'm going to make a cash donation today to the Family. It will be for over the highest bid now and being a man of my world if it goes over my donation I will ad more to the go fund me. This way Keegan and his Family can enjoy the holiday and maybe use some of it to make another family's Christmas better to.
Keep up the Amazing work all you knuckle head hunters ! Merry Christmas . Coach

This is one elk call. Their auction is all kinds of stuff and an elk call.
Just want to keep the record straight.

We joke around , but in all seriousness look at what like minded people from all over the country can do when the opportunity arises.

I have two Seattle Seahawks tickets for the final home game of the season, Sunday 12/31/17 against the Arizona Cardinals I would like to donate to be actioned off for Keegan and his family. The tickets are in section 312 row I, seats 3 and 4. I have two boys and I could not imagine going through this let alone worrying about money on top of my son’s health. I can email electronic tickets or mail hard tickets.

Yikes. We better sell these tickets soon. Probably get that auction fired up now so folks have time to plan.
Thank you!

Again I encourage anyone who bid early on in this auction but dropped out to donate your last bid to the go fund me page. That's what I did with my last bid that was at $600.

I'd like to share a little bit about the Wilder family and what kind of people they are. Jeremie came from a family with little means. He was taught hard work and that has served him well. He has a good job, and lives a good life. One thing that has been hard for Jermie throughout this whole process is that he is always preached to his boys that you do not take handouts but you give hand UPS whenever you can. You work hard and you earn what you have. So to have all this outpouring of support and generosity has kind of been tough for him to accept. I think any proud hard-working man would probably feel that way.
I just spoke to him on the phone a little bit ago just to give him a heads up on what is going on and he informed me that after speaking with Corey, Danielle is going to take the money that he donated to them and spend it all to buy Christmas presents for all the other kids in the Ronald McDonald House. Because while they are having their own Financial struggles they know that there are others out there who have it far worse. There are families living there fighting battles just as bad or far worse that don't have the support like what is being shown here.
Situations like this prove that they're still amazing people in this world if we actually open your eyes and look. Merry Christmas to all of you and yours!

Wow, they sound like very good people. Your lucky to have them as friends, talk about the Christmas spirit!

Wow, just goes to show there are great people in this world. What a joy to read!

it's a shining example in a great lesson for him to teach his boys that no matter how bad life is, you need to be thankful for what you do have and to always help those less fortunate however you can. I'm not going to lie when he told me that over the phone I had to really fight to keep my stuff together.
-
Full disclosure when you posted that I got a little choked up.
I always tell my kids it's not how many times you get knocked down, what matters is how many times you get back up.
Never give up.

dusty in here for sure ....

I had to tap out. I did $600 to the go fund me account and still have top bid at $425 for the wood framed muley pic.
Maybe a couple of the guys that got outbid can team up and push this thing a little higher.

Totally and completely awesome!
Just had a friend depart this mortal plane this week after she battled cancer hard for three years. Heartbreaking. Then, just found out yesterday that my wife’s mother’s cancer has come out of remission and she’ll have to undergo aggressive chemo again. We need to eradicate cancer! #f-cancer!!! Prayers sent for this kiddo.

I've been left completely speechless by all involved. Epic is a fitting word!
