Title: Delorme inReach question
Post by: jamesfromseattle on December 20, 2017, 10:15:41 PM: Recently bought a Delorme inReach Explorer (the old Delorme version not the new Garmin version) and am trying to figure out how to use the maps.

For some reason when I open the map app it only shows my position on a blank grid—without any actual map.

Anybody know how to get an actual map to show up or is this all it does?

I find their CS people are very helpful whenever I ask for help with any of their products.

Post by: jamesfromseattle on December 27, 2017, 04:13:16 PM: Thanks for the responses. No issues with the Garmin App on my phone--in fact, I really like that app. I am going to get the hunting layer for it, which appears to be a much less expensive but equally functional equivalent of Onx.

My problem is with the maps on the InReach devise itself. The location shows up but no actual map images on the InReach's screen. Not sure if they are supposed to show up or if the device doesn't actually have the ability to display maps on its own screen. I'll give Garmin a call and see what the deal is.
