Title: Gun Values - Old
Post by: zugbug on December 21, 2017, 06:06:27 AM: Have a couple older guns I am trying to determine a fair price for. First is a Remington 1917 w/sporterized stock. Second is a 12 guage double barrel made by N.R. Davis & Sons. Both guns are in fantastic condition for their age. If anyone has ideas or info on where I can find information I would appreciate it.

It's probably worth around $100-$150

Post by: AWS on December 23, 2017, 07:20:39 PM: If you google NR Davis and Sons there is quite a bit of info availible on the company eventually getting absorbed by Savage.

You shotgun appears to have damascus barrels in a monoblock or it was rebarrelled/sleeved at one time in its life. It is a pretty decent gun and would be a candidate for restoring if it is mechanically in good condition with sound wood.

You might want to go to this sight and ask about it, maybe some sharper pictures of the underside of the barrels behind the hinge and the barrels.
