Well... after a handful of hunting seasons missed due to joining the best gun club America has to offer, none other than the United States Marine Corps. I've seen some areas of the world that are crap - that includes California!! I'm back in Washington State for the long haul now though.
I understand there's been a lot of changes since I've been gone... bags cost money, they're about to tax sugary drinks, pot is legal, the forest seems to have been getting more and more crowded in recent years, and the liberal-left finally admits that there, are in fact wolves are in this state  :chuckle:
I've hunted Wahluke for mule deer and Bethel for elk, all muzzleloader for the last 10-15 years. Looking to change units now for various reasons. I'll be posting here and there but mostly reading old forums, trying to keep up with the new and of course using that handy search bar.
I've been gone so long that I've mostly made this thread to say :hello:
and thank you to all who post your stories, experiences, and photos. Those helped tremendously when I was forward deployed!!!!!!!!!!
I look forward to being a more active member of Hunting-Washington and joining the rest of you in day dreaming of the mountains during your M-F 9-5!

Welcome back yote, i too have traveled around the US and love NE Washington. I agree California is in a sad condition and the west side of Washington is over run with liberals. I even like WA better than Alaska but still enjoy a trip up there now and again. Thanks for your service sir.

Thank you for your service, Yote! Glad you can get back to hunting the forests and mountains of Washington State. Well deserved.

Do guys prefer the "Benchmark" or "Delorme" road and atlas books?
I used to have a Benchmark but it's probably 5-10 years old and seen better days... looking to get a new one

I've never used benchmark but I get a lot of use out of my Delorme atlas.

Good to know... I guess Bass Pro, or Sport Co would have the two kinds and I could flip through & compare

I’ve used delorme gazzateers for years, but this year I’ve pretty much replace it with onXmaps.

Yeah I've been thinking about doing some electronic versions but seeing as my computer sucks and I might revert back to a flip phone.... hard cover topography studying is probably a safe bet for my future lol
