Curious about this stuff. Is it much different than Plasti-Dip ?
Sure is a lot more $$ $14 for 16z. :yike:
-
A LOT is spent on advertising.
-
Well you can cut the bottom out of boat, coat it with Flex seal and go fishing. Try doing that with Plasti-Dip ;)
-
lol, wouldn't try that with either.

I got a couple of cans of the aerosol, a pint of the paint, and a roll of the tape. Not sure why I bought any of it, but sure seems like it will come in handy someday!
-
I use the spray to change the sound on my wifleball bat elk bugles. :chuckle: I have used it on corral panels to stop rust on the part that contacts the ground and it seems to work fine.
-
I use it fairly often. My brother got a gutter one day and bent it and cracked it pretty good. I straitened it and cleaned it up and coated it with the spray flex seal and worked great. I also used it to seal the joints in my floor in my shop. No complaints.

So I'm not the only one that does this. LOL
I don't have any of the paint or the tape but I bought a couple cans of the spray on Flex Seal awhile back because I thought it could/would be handy to have. I've never used any of it and I'm not 100% sure where the hel it's even at but I'd much rather have it and never need it than need it and not have it. ;)
My only concern is does this stuff have a shelf life because it'd be really pi$$ed if I go to use it and it won't spray. :yike:

I used it to seal around vents on camper. ?Holding up after a year. Rubbermaid has a similar product which I have also used with success.
-
I bought a bunch to seal the top of my tent trailer
-
CARNAC works much better it is what professional roofers use if they cannot make the rubber sheeting work. It's like Snow seal on steroids. I used it to seal some 40' containers and the roof of a camper trailer. It lasts longer than snow seal because it has fiber in it and is silver in color.

I do water proofing on commercial buildings for a living, and I make a lot of money following behind people that use this stuff. A lot of money.

CARNAC or Flexseal?

I've always seen Flex Seal as a temporary fix.
IMHO, anything that has to do with waterproofing should be done the right way, not the easy way.

Flex Seal. It's pretty bad. The Karnac is even meant for a temporary fix to hold until the weather allows a permanent fix. The Karnac does a good of that.
-
I tried it. Purchased two cans. Smells like roofing tar or asphalt. Pretty bad stuff. Worked for a bit until it got hard.
-
Thanks for the replies. I ended up using plasti dip to fix a $200 key fob, worked great so far.
Ive had pretty good luck with this stuff, sounds like the flex seal is not worth the $$
-
I used flex-seal to seal my gutter seems and the seems on a riveted boat.
So far it has worked great.
And the clear Flex-Seal, works great for preserving birds nests and tumble weeds.
-
I tried it on a crack in one of those dark gray plastic stock water tanks, 300 gallon, crack about 3 inch long. Did not work at all did not stick.

I use epoxy on my stock tanks with great results. Just clean it really well with acetone first. I did patch a tiny leak around the drain with Flex Seal and it has held so far for about a year.

Did you patch both sides?
