in 27 years that my parents have lived here their has always been a small drainage that went thru our field. We had seen maybe 5 ducks in 27 years.
The other day my dad decided to dam up the small culvert that now went no-where and in one day look what showed up.
 :chuckle:
i guess i will have to get a blind and a bow come duck season.
Huge paired northerns showed up, 2 on the first day and then a total of 8 and 16 on day 2 and 3.
Sorry about the pic quality. these guys were pretty jumpy when my daughter and i tried to stalk in close to them they wanted nothing to do with us.
so these pics were mostly taken from my moms kitchen window thru the binocs.

Set up a blind and you are in business. I love duck hunting. Nothing but trigger time.

I always wanted a piece of land with some low land a a small stream or pond just for this purpose. Got a buddy that lives on 80 acres of hardwoods and eastern white cedar that has just such a set up. It's provided great hunting opportunities for his sons and himself.
Enjoy your new found hunting opportunity.
